WOW!

So we closed on our house August 14th. Took a truck load of stuff over that night and finished up the next day. It was a bit of last minute as we litterally did not even call to see about a truck until 4 pm that day. Jes and Jeff were amazing. Their help made the whole thing possible. Then on Saturday, August 15th I decided it was time to go to the hospital around 10:00. Tyler was born at 11:59 pm. He has a full head of dark hair and looks like Shannon - except for the nose. We aren't sure whose nose he has yet. He is a very good baby. He sleeps and eats well and makes really funny faces. Sometimes in his sleep he goes through the entire range of emotions in less then a minute. Already he looks different from when he was born - they change so fast! Unfortunately I'm on the wrong computer right now so I can't put any more picutres up but they will come soon.

Zach is adjusting. At first he wanted nothing to do with his brother but now he wants to hold him all the time. He tried to play soccer with him today but that didn't go over well with me. They are getting used to each other.

We've been very blessed to get help from both our new and old wards in the form of meals and playdates for Zach. Jessica gets the gold star for all the unpacking she did while I was in the hospital. I came home to a home, complete with flowers from my new yard in every room. The new house is fun and will be more fun as we get more unpacked. And of course Brian is wonderful. That's really all I can say about that here without getting overly emotional.
Whew! That was a busy weekend.

Updates on all the big changes

No baby yet. I officially started maternity leave yesterday because I am having contractions (as irregular as they may be) and I am anything but focused. So just boxing up a few more things about our house. We have several rooms done. Zach's is the only room untouched as of yet. Zach's last day at school is Friday. He will be excited to spend more time with mommy - even if there is a new addition here too.

Got word that things still are on track to close on Friday on our house. So many changes. A very fun time.

Here's a picture from our Hawaii trip when we hiked up a waterfall near the road to Hana. You can see how big I was in May already.

Waiting Game

It's hard to pay attention to work or get anything done when you are waiting. We are waiting to have a baby, waiting to close on a house, just waiting. Brian's in his busy season so he is supposed to work hundreds of hours. My preseason is supposed to start on Monday. But all we can focus on is what could happen any day now. All the false alarms are driving me crazy. At least all signs show that we are on time to close on our house.

And would you believe that I got a flat tire on my car this week too.

Hot, Hot, Hot

This week was a record setting heat wave in Seattle. We survived and now we are having fun in our warm 80's weekend. We spent a lot of time down by the water and Alki at sunset which made it fun, especially since it is always 10 degrees cooler there. This is probably the first time in my entire life that I really don't like the heat. Hopefully, I will get back to being myself sooner or later. Zach dealt with the heat very well but he has decided that he does not like the Blue Angels. Not even a little bit. No pictures today as we are packing boxes and life is pretty much chaos right now. My due date is officially 2 weeks and 5 days away but Brian and I are both predicting a baby sooner then that. Thank you to all our friends and family that have offered to help in the coming month!
