Just another Soccer Saturday

Today was Zachs first soccer game in the NW rain. He told me playing in the rain makes him run faster because the raindrops fall from a long way and they go fast. And although he started out fast with an early goal; by the end of the game he was certianly not fast. When i caught up with him at the end of the game, he told me that his hands had gotten cold, and he cant run as fast with cold hands. Apparently cold hands offset the boost in speed from the rain.

To attone for his loss of speed and to work on some necessary skills, Zach, Tyler and I held an exibition match in the back yard ithis afternoon. In the afternoon action Tyler surprised us all with his skills. clearly Tyler has been doing more than just watching his big brother at games and at practice. at one point he was able to steal the ball from me, dribble around Zach and score a goal. Standing in the goal, victorious, Tyler let out a yell and rose his hands above his head in victory. Here is the victor climbing onto a chair a few moments later. Obviously still pleased with his athletic endevaours for the day.
